MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — A doctor at a New Hampshire jail has been temporarily barred from practicing medicine at the facility following claims that he failed to provide inmates with adequate medical care.
New Hampshire Public Radio reports (http://bit.ly/1rhZZJo ) the Board of Medicine suspended Matthew Masewic's license for 120 days.
The board says Masewic failed to provide patients at Hillsborough County's jail with sufficient care. An investigation says one person's heart and other medications were stopped, even after an emergency room trip and other doctor's orders.
The board says another person's untreated ailments resulted in paralysis and the jail disregarded a pregnant woman's demands for medical attention. The infant was later stillborn.
Officials have 120 days to revoke, reinstate or continue the suspension.
