LAHORE, Pakistan (AP) — A Pakistani police official says a car slammed into a gas tanker, causing a fireball that killed 10 people, including six children.

Mohammad Kashif says another 17 people were wounded in the accident Wednesday in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province. He says the accident was caused by fog and negligent driving, and that people were killed and injured when the fireball engulfed surrounding cars and rickshaws.

The dead included six schoolchildren and two female teachers.
