BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — State officials are seeking public comment on a proposed gold mining project just north of Yellowstone National Park. The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports that the Montana officials are accepting public input on an application from Crevice Mining Group. The company based out of Spokane, Washington says the exploration project would cost about $1.1 million and disturb 7 acres of surface.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Senate has approved legislation to bring the state's tax code in line with federal rules, a move estimated to cost Idaho roughly $46 million over two years. House lawmakers spiked a prior version of the legislation earlier this year after objecting to the bill's removal of unenforceable language banning same-sex couples from filing joint tax returns.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho Girl Scouts would get a tax break on each box of Thin Mints under legislation introduced in a House committee. The House Revenue and Tax Committee introduced a bill today that would exempt Girl and Boy Scouts' food programs from the state sales tax.
