PHILADELPHIA (AP) — One of three men convicted of kidnapping and torturing a Philadelphia jewelry store worker before dumping her in a cemetery in an attempt to get the shop's security codes has been sentenced to more than 30 years in prison.
The Philadelphia Inquirer (http://bit.ly/1PbHbDm) reports Salahudin Shaheed was sentenced Friday for his role in the April attack.
A judge tells the 35-year-old Shaheed it's "the most heinous crime" he's seen in 25 years on the bench.
Prosecutors say Shaheed masterminded the crime. He maintains his innocence.
Prosecutors say Shaheed and the other men approached the woman in a parking garage, used a stun gun on her, bound her and put a bag over her head before dumping her. She survived.
One man was sentenced to 15 years in prison. The other is being sentenced Feb. 29.
