BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A Billings addiction treatment center has received a multi-year federal grant to help fund treatment and transitional living for recently released inmates.
The Billings Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1GpyY8l ) that the Rimrock Foundation was awarded more than $382,200 on Friday by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for an offender re-entry program.
Rimrock officials say recently incarcerated clients will receive intensive day treatment for substance abuse as well as access to parenting classes, family therapy, life skills training, domestic violence groups and other programs.
Officials say the True North project is aimed at showing how gender-specific addiction treatment combined with targeted case management and safe housing can reduce demand for jail beds and lower the involvement of substance abusers in the criminal justice system.
