CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The American Civil Liberties Union is filing a lawsuit challenging Nevada's broad new Education Savings Account program. The suit says the law violates a portion of the Nevada Constitution that bans using public funds for sectarian purposes. The treasurer's office is administering the program and declined to comment.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Airport officials say they're doubling the number of international gates in Las Vegas with the expectation that foreign travel to the destination will climb. McCarran International Airport director Rosemary Vassiliadis says work to add seven international gates will begin later this year. One gate will accommodate a wide-body double-decker A-380 aircraft.
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — An airport manager says the Federal Aviation Administration is partially to blame for the state's drone industry not taking off as many predicted it would. The Nevada Appeal reports that Reno-Stead Airport manager Mike Dikum says the FAA has been slow to make rules. He said the state is exploring opportunities to expand its drone industry.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say two men rescued Monday morning from The Venetian hotel-casino's canal on the Las Vegas Strip were hospitalized in critical condition. Las Vegas police said hotel security reported the men had attempted to swim across a pond area. No criminal charges were filed.
