LANSING, Mich. (AP) — The Michigan Workforce Development Agency is getting a federal grant worth roughly $1.1 million to help study links between education and employment.
The U.S. Department of Labor said Monday that Michigan is among nine states splitting $9.7 million in grant money.
The department says the funding is to help the states build or expand databases linking workforce and education data. The databases must be used for research in determining effectiveness of education and workforce programs.
According to the Department of Labor, Michigan is getting additional funding to do more work on its database. Other states to receive grant money are Alaska, Arkansas, Kansas, Maine, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas and Washington.
