SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Census authorities say St. George is one of the five fastest-growing cities in the country. New data from the U.S. Census Bureau finds the city grew by about 3 percent, to just under 80,000 people in 2014. Heber City and Vernal ranked among the top five on another list of the country's fastest-growing smaller cities.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Vail Resorts Inc. says it has received approval from Park City planning officials to build a high-speed gondola that would connect two ski resorts it owns in Utah. The company says the linking lift will join Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort to make it the largest ski area in the U.S. Vail announced plans for the connecting lift in December as part of $50 million in investments at the two resorts.

FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) — Law enforcement officers and residents from the surrounding communities are gathering in Farmington to remember a Navajo Nation police officer killed in a shootout with a gunman. A funeral service will be held for Alex Yazzie today at 10 a.m. at Pinon Hills Community Church. Yazzie was killed March 19 after Justin Fowler shot at officers in Red Valley, Arizona. Fowler was killed by police.

HOUSTON (AP) — Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak (krist-KOH'-vee-ak) will lead the Utes in the NCAA Sweet 16 matchup tonight in Houston against four-time national champion Mike Krzyzewski (shuh-SHEF'-skee) and top-seeded Duke. This is Duke's 22nd Sweet 16 appearance under Krzyzewski. Utah is in its first Sweet 16 in 10 years.
