RENO, Nev. (AP) — Gov. Brian Sandoval joined a cafeteria full of students at a Reno elementary school to sing Nevada's state song as part of a statewide effort to set a world sing-along record. Yesterday's attempt to establish a record for the most people simultaneously singing a U.S. state song came the day before Nevada marks 150 years of statehood.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Nevada Supreme Court says dancers at one Las Vegas club are employees, not independent contractors, and are entitled to be paid minimum wage. The unanimous ruling yesterday could prove costly for strip clubs statewide. It sends the case back to Clark County District Court for hearings to determine how much money 6,600 current and former dancers at the club are owed.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Caesars Entertainment has unveiled the new look of its LINQ Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Ceasars said yesterday was the first day hotel guests experienced results of a $223 million remodel to create a quirky look aimed at younger visitors keen on a social tech-savvy experience.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A Nevada Republican is trying to unseat an incumbent Democratic assemblyman in a blue-collar district in Sparks to become the first openly transgender person to serve in a state legislature. Lauren Scott admits many people thought her candidacy was a "bit of a joke." But the 50-year-old businesswoman says voters are learning there's more to her platform than just civil rights. Scott founded a company that manufactures semiconductor equipment.
