LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Las Vegas lawyer who was the U.S. attorney in Nevada from 1975 to 1977 has pleaded guilty to failing to file individual and corporate taxes on $1 million in income.
U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden said Thursday that Lawrence Semenza II pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge James Mahan to three misdemeanor charges of willful failure to file a federal tax return and agreed to pay $290,000 in restitution to the Internal Revenue Service.
Semenza entered his plea at the same time he was charged.
His lawyer, Mark Bailus, didn't immediately respond later to messages.
Bogden said Semenza admitted failing to pay taxes on about $655,000 in personal and $345,000 in corporate income from 2006 to 2010.
Semenza could face up to three years in prison at sentencing Dec. 3.
