SUNRISE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apr 17, 2014--MDLIVE, the nation’s leading provider of telehealth services and software, and Carenet Healthcare Services, a leading provider of care management, nurse triage and engagement solutions, today announced a partnership to combine MDLIVE’s 24x7 physician solution with Carenet’s Nurse Advice Line service. Now members who need an additional level of care, gain 24x7 access to physician consultations after triage by a registered nurse.

“Carenet’s focus is on addressing the inefficiencies and rising costs in healthcare today. Providing timely and easy access to trusted healthcare professionals is a key part of overcoming these hurdles,” said Vikie Spulak, Executive Vice President, Carenet. “MDLIVE is a perfect way to enhance our services by providing expanded access to quality care and actionable information from physicians.”

Carenet delivers personalized care management and engagement solutions for commercial health plans, hospital systems, employer groups, the Military, Medicaid and Medicare. Today, Carenet’s nurses recommend 17% of Nurse Advice Line patients see a physician within four hours and 24% of patients see a physician within 24 hours of calling. With the addition of MDLIVE, many of these patients become candidates for either telephone or video consultation. Now Carenet members engaging with Nurse Advice Line with low acuity medical symptoms will be directed to MDLIVE physicians for immediate consultation.

This year MDLIVE secured $23.6 Million in funding to expand the nation’s largest telehealth network with an unsurpassed experienced team of healthcare and technology leaders who are creating a new and unprecedented standard of patient care. MDLIVE provides unparalleled care anytime, anywhere for employers, health plans, providers, health systems and health service centers. Partnering with Carenet allows the company to broaden its reach.

“We are excited to partner with Carenet which has the complementary goal of providing immediate access to quality healthcare for consumers,” said Randy Parker, CEO of MDLIVE. “Both Carenet and MDLIVE are working toward changing the way healthcare is delivered. Together we can significantly impact both the rising cost of healthcare and the efficacy of the care our members, clients and consumers receive. This is the first step in a great partnership.”
