SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff is pushing a bill aimed at protecting the identity of Utah's children.

House Bill 387 would add links and resources to the Identity Theft Information System (IRIS). It would assist victims of identity theft, especially children, in protecting their Social Security numbers against unauthorized exposure.

"We gotta start somewhere, and it starts with people like these, and it starts with people like us doing something right here, right now," Shurtleff says.

HB 387 is sponsored by Rep. Eric Hutchings, R-Kearns.
