SOUTH WEBER -- A man convicted of lewd conduct with a child in California was finally caught Wednesday in Utah for not registering as a sex offender.
David Lynn Young had three different aliases and had started a new life with a new family in South Weber, but that was his downfall. Deputy U.S. Marshal Bob Arness said someone came asking for him at work.
"He didn't answer to that [name], and then he realized who it was, and then he answered with another name," Arness said. "That's where the ball started rolling."
Young's girlfriend and her daughters told police they didn't have any idea that Young had been on the run for 10 years. They said he didn't sexually abuse either of the girls.
Young now faces sex registration charges, and could also face identity theft charges because police believe he may have stolen others' Social Security numbers.
