OREM -- Orem police have identified a 36-year-old woman who died at a local hospital after being critically injured in a stabbing Monday afternoon. On Tuesday, they identified her as Norma Villalobos Guzman.
Sgt. Craig Martinez says Guzman died Monday evening at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. He says she had suffered a single stab wound to the chest.
Police initially released a different name for the woman and said Tuesday it turned out to be one of several aliases she used.
The woman's husband also was stabbed. Martinez said Tuesday the husband remained hospitalized in serious condition.
Officers found one knife at the scene.
Martinez says a roommate of the couple was home Monday and heard them arguing. The roommate left and called his wife, who called police. Neither roommate saw the stabbing.
Martinez says the case is being investigated as a domestic dispute.
