WEST VALLEY CITY -- On Tuesday night, KSL News reported on a slanted road in West Valley City that is causing a lot of trouble for drivers and residents. Now the city says it's going to fix the problem.

Residents in the area of 4700 South and 5200 West told KSL that every year when it gets cold, the slant in the road becomes very icy. They say they can always count on having a few accidents in that spot.

City officials say the road is within engineering standards, but the slant is more pronounced than engineers would prefer. So, workers will re-stripe the west lanes of 4700 South and make them one lane.

Engineers say drivers will only be on the flat section of road and will avoid the slant completely.

Crews will likely start the project next week and probably finish sometime after Christmas.
