OREM -- A series of wild events led to the arrest of four people possibly involved in a national theft ring at Staples stores.
Around 11 a.m. Thursday, police were called to Staples at 165 N. State St. in Orem after employees recognized at least one of the people from wanted posters released by Staples' corporate office.
The group was stealing ink jet cartridges from Staples stores and reselling them.
The suspects left the store just as an officer arrived. One of the suspects jumped into a Chevy Avalanche and drove off. The officer turned on his lights and pursued him.
After a short chase, the suspect hit a delivery truck and rolled his SUV a few blocks away from the store, on Orem Boulevard.
He got out and tried to run off, but was tasered by the officer.
Three other suspects, one man and two women were also arrested.
