Rookie CB Smith signs with Miami Dolphins
July 24th, 2009 @ 5:24pm

MIAMI (AP) -- Rookie cornerback Sean Smith has signed a $3.166 million, four-year contract with the Miami Dolphins, said his agent, David Canter.

Smith was a second-round draft pick and the 61st selection overall in April. His deal is guaranteed for $1.363 million, including a $945,000 signing bonus, Canter said Friday.

Three Miami draft choices remain unsigned -- first-round pick Vontae Davis, second-round choice Pat White and fifth-round pick Chris Clemons. The first practice of training camp will be Aug. 2.

Smith, a two-year starter at Utah, is expected to contend with Davis for a starting position.
