Seven People Arrested in Salt Lake Drug Bust
December 14th, 2006 @ 6:53am

Gene Kennedy Reporting

Seven people are hauled away in handcuffs after a drug house is shut down in Salt Lake City. Not all seven were in house at the time of the raid.

Some of those arrested came to the house at 200 North 900 West while police were there.

Police thought the suspects could be armed so they sent SWAT in first.

Police haven't confirmed if they found weapons but officers say there was cocaine and meth in the home.

Officers say customers kept coming up while police were there. One woman walked up to the house with drugs on her and she was arrested.

In this bust, seven people were lead away in handcuffs. Two were arrested on outstanding warrants; five more were busted for alleged drug possession.

During the bust, one guy tried to ditch the drugs but ran into a problem.

Lt. Dave Cracroft/ Salt Lake City Police Dept.: "One of the suspects decided to throw his drugs out the window. But he forgot the screen was on the window, so the dope hit the screen and bounced back on top of him."

We're still waiting for names on who was arrested, but we can tell you some of these people will be charged with drug distribution.

And as weird as it sounds for customer after customer to walk up while police are here, officers say they see that often, especially if the home is a high volume drug stop.
