SALT LAKE CITY -- How do you feel about the fist bump? A Norwegian immigrant is trying to make today "National Fist Bump Day."
Thomas Sandberg remembers his first fist bump on July 7, 1989 from one of rapper MC Hammer's bodyguards. Now Sandberg wants everyone to celebrate the fist bump today. He says it's more sanitary than a handshake. Some Utahns agree.
"Especially with the swine flu and everything going around," one Utah resident told us.
Jared Carter likes to make his fist bumps fancy. "I do the explosion thing where you hit it and your hand 'explodes,' " he said.
But not everyone is on board. A man named Robert said, "I just think it's kind of dumb. I'm a more formal kind of guy."
Some are promoting the elbow touch. Others like the high five instead.
