OGDEN -- A security guard is getting the credit for breaking up a dangerous fight in Ogden.

Just outside the El Portrero Bar at 3119 Wall Ave., witnesses saw a man and a woman fighting in a car early Sunday morning.

Ogden police Lt. Mike Ashment said, "They saw that the male was holding the female down with one hand and he had a handgun in the other."

Ashment says a security guard tried to get in the car to protect the woman, but it was locked.

"So, he busted one of the windows out of the car and was able to retrieve the handgun from the male," Ashment explained.

He says the suspect, 21-year-old David Solis, and the victim have children together but Ashment did not say what they were fighting about.

Solis now faces aggravated kidnapping charges.
