SALT LAKE CITY -- This weekend's general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was a popular topic on Twitter.

In fact, the subject #ldsconf was the top trend on Twitter this weekend. That means more Twitter users were commenting on LDS general conference than any other subject.

David Politis of Politis Communications ended up chatting with fellow Twitter users on Tweetchat.

"We came to know ourselves as the Twitter Stake. We had followers from all over the United States," he said.

Politis says it added to his conference experience.

"People were tweeting about what was being said as Elder Bednar, Elder Oaks and Elder Perry spoke. People were writing down their quotes, they were making comments about it and observations," he said.

Politis says it shows how people of all ages and backgrounds have embraced this technology. It could also show that members of the LDS Church are tech-savy.

Twitter is used to post mini-blogs or "tweets" using a computer or a phone. (Note: You can follow KSL.com on Twitter)
