About a dozen racist fliers were found in the yards of homes on the 1900 block of Blaine Street in Sugar House. The fliers were wrapped around old editions of the University of Utah's student newspaper.

Editors of the paper don't know why the Utah Chronicle was used, but they're pretty sure it was because it's free.

"I don't know if using the Chronicle was necessarily meant to send a message about the Chronicle or the University itself. I think it was just a matter of convenience," said General Manager of the Utah Chronicle Jacob Sorenson.

But he said they may look at prosecuting the group responsible for the fliers.

"You know, just in protecting the interests of the Chronicle, if there was something that we could pursue based upon legal counsel, then we would pursue it," he said.

The fliers were from a Neo-Nazi group called the National Socialist Movement, originating out of Detroit, Mich. People in the neighborhood believed they were targeting an interracial couple who live there.

Sorenson hoped the whole thing would blow over soon.

He said, "All we're doing is fanning the flame of the racism and hatred by putting them on the news."
