There's a new feature at Sundance this year making a big splash, and it's helping save the environment.
It's the accessory that everyone seems to have at Sundance this year. And while mother may have told you never to follow the crowd, you'll likely want to make an exception this time.
Overflowing with praise this year at Sundance are the movies, the stars and Nalgene bottle.
Sharon Winders said, "Everybody has one. They're terrific."
"I haven't seen many people without them," Emily Pierucci said.
FilterForGood Nalgene bottles is a conservation effort prompted by waste at last year's festival.
Lisa Ptak, with the FilterForGood Campaign, said, "Last year, Sundance gave out 50,000 bottles of disposable water."
So this year they gave it a try and handed out the green water bottles. Next year, they hope the festival will be completely disposable-bottle free. Ken Patterson said, "I think it's a great idea."
Nalgene and Brita teamed up and are handing out 24,000 of the bottles this year.
There are water stops at every venue and on Main Street. They're dangling from nearly every hand. Ptak says, "I think we've gotten people very excited about an alternative to bottled water."
The FilterForGood Campaign is also offering tips for going green online and taking pledges from people to stop using disposable water bottles.
Their best advertising tool: the little green bottle with a big message. Pierucci said, "I like to drink a lot of water, so I'll be using this at home and showing off that I went to Sundance."
You'll also see the bottle pop up on this season of NBC's "The Biggest Loser."
