Police reward woman with iPod

Provo police are encouraging residents to help them stop graffiti by giving out free iPods to those who do.

Pamela Pick moved to Utah from Miami, and when she recently noticed graffiti showing up around her apartment, it didn't go over well. "To see that graffiti and tagging coming into our community, everybody needs to step up," she said.

Pick figured out who was tagging the area, and her tip helped police arrest a teenager. The suspect confessed to spray painting around the Boulder Apartments, and today Provo police said thanks by giving Pick an iPod.

"[We're] just trying to do something different, make people look at this in a different way," said Provo Police Chief Craig Geslison.

Geslison says police need the public's help to stop graffiti, so the offer stands: Help catch graffiti vandals and get an iPod.

Pick says she had no idea police were offering iPods as a reward; she just wanted the graffiti stopped.
