(KSL News) It took a lot of rope and a forklift to pick the heaviest pumpkin in Utah.
These big beauties had no problem hopping on the scale to show off their weight for the Annual Utah Giant Pumpkin Weigh-off in Woods Cross.
One pumpkin came in at 1,086 pounds, but it was disqualified because of a crack. So the top prize went to Gordon Tanner of Kaysville, who grew a 1,054 pounder.
When we asked how to grow a pumpkin that large, we were told it takes good soil, good seed, good fertilizer and good luck.
