SALT LAKE CITY — The I-80 eastbound and westbound exits at Foothill Drive will close Monday before the morning commute and will remain closed for up to four months, the Utah Department of Transportation announced Friday.

The ramp from westbound I-80 to Foothill Drive and Parleys Way is scheduled to remain closed through July and the loop ramp from eastbound I-80 to Foothill Drive is scheduled to remain closed through mid-September.

The closures will allow crews to reconstruct several bridges at the I-80 Foothill Drive interchange and are the first in a series of closures at the I-80/Foothill Drive interchange. Crews will reconstruct the Foothill Drive bridges in both directions over Parleys Way, I-80 and I-215.

In addition to the I-80 Foothill Drive closures, UDOT urges drivers to plan for the following traffic restrictions that are scheduled for the next several days:

  • Eastbound state Route 201 at I-215 will close Friday from 9 p.m. - 6 a.m.
  • Westbound state Route 201 at I-215 will close Saturday from 9 p.m. - 6 a.m.
  • Eastbound I-80 will be reduced to one lane at the I-15 interchange near downtown Salt Lake City on Saturday from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Collector ramp from westbound I-80 to 2100 South/1300 South/900 South at the Spaghetti Bowl will be closed for five nights May 8-12 from 9 p.m. until the morning.
  • Bangerter Highway has been reduced to two lanes during daytime, non-commute hours and one lane during overnight hours until construction has finished.
  • I-84 is reduced to one lane in each direction near Taggart night and day until May 13.
  • Southbound Legacy Parkway will be reduced to one lane starting May 8 from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. each day until construction ends.
