Stadium now has facilities for BYU band
September 11th, 2008 @ 3:30pm

PROVO, Utah (AP) -- The Brigham Young University band has a new home -- a 7,700-square-foot, high-tech set of rehearsal halls, offices and storage space adjacent to LaVell Edwards stadium.

Built over the summer, the new building is the band's first permanent facility.

In the past the band's practice facility was a campus parking and members were responsible for storing and toting their own instruments and uniforms. Band directors also lacked permanent office space and on game-day operated out of their cars.

Clarinet player Eric Baker says the new hall creates a sense of belonging among the 225 band members.

School officials won't say how much the facility cost.
