OREM — The Orem Police Department is set to auction off bikes and nearly 100 other unclaimed items from its evidence room.

The auction starts Saturday at 9 a.m. and will be held in the Orem Police Department’s east parking lot, located at 95 E. Center St. The event will move inside in the event of inclement weather.

The money raised from the auction will go towards Sub for Santa, according to Lt. Craig Martinez. The items were recovered by police as stolen or lost, but investigators have been unable to locate the owners. All items have been held for at least 90 days.

In addition to bikes, the sale will include items like smartphones, a Kindle Fire, scooters, tools, baby strollers and clothing items. A full list of items can be viewed on the second page of this story.

The department has been holding these auctions since 2010.
