KAMAS — Two people were hurt when the ATV they were riding flipped Saturday night.
The victims were returning from a family ride up Hoyt’s Peak just east of Kamas around 9:15 p.m., according to Kevin Taylor, a Utah State Park ranger. The ATV overturned — throwing all three riders to the ground.
The 44-year-old male driver was airlifted to University Hospital, while his passenger — a 12-year-old girl — was flown to Primary Children’s Medical Center. The third passenger — a 9-year-old boy — wasn’t hurt.
“It appears speed may have been a factor, and also the terrain they were riding on,” Taylor said.
The conditions of the victims were unknown Sunday morning.
