In 2013, Forbes ranked Utah as the third best state for business and careers. The year before, Utah was ranked first out of all states. This just goes to show that whether you are an entry-level worker or a seasoned veteran continuing to explore your career options, Utah is the ideal place to find a job.

Although job options available in Utah seem to be endless, we have narrowed down the list to the 10 most popular Utah professions — meaning the most common jobs Utah residents work. These jobs ans statistics were found from the most recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Note that the professions listed vary by industry and were chosen according to their ranking in a specific industry.

Retail Salespersons

Retail salespersons assist customers by helping them find the specific products they are looking for as well as process customers' payments. They sell products that range from clothing and accessories to home appliances and decorations.

Customer Service RepresentativesThose who work as customer service representatives provide detailed information about a company's products and services to customers. They also process orders and handle customer complaints.

An estimated total of 39,280 Utah residents work as customer service representatives, earning an annual wage of $30,000. Check out current job openings.

General and operation managers are in control of an organization's daily operations. They formulate policies and plan out how to use a company's materials and human resources in the most efficient way.

Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck DriversTransporting goods from one location to another, most heavy and tractor- trailer truck drivers are long-haul drivers, meaning they deliver goods over intercity routes that sometimes span over several states.

Registered nurses provide the proper care their patients need. Not only do they educate patients and others about various health conditions, they also give emotional support to their patients and their patient's family members.
