KEARNS — Police were looking for a gunman who fired at least seven rounds into a house and vehicle early Friday.

About 3:20 a.m., Unified police detective Ken Hansen said one or two men walked up to a house on Lodestone Avenue (5700 West) and opened fire with a handgun. The house was hit at least five times and a vehicle parked in the driveway at least twice, he said. Seven shell casings were recovered, Hansen said.

No one inside the house was injured. A mother, father and two teenage children were home at the time, he said. Hansen said investigators were looking at whether the shooting was possibly gang-related. The family living at the house told police they did not have any gang affiliation.

"I am a professional woman," one of the residents told KSL, saying she did not know why anyone would target this house.

After the shooting, witnesses said one or two men walked away from the scene, possibly to a waiting car.

Anyone with information on the incident can call police at 801-743-7000.
