Whit Johnson and Lori Prichard reportingPolice are confirming tonight that they have found the body of Hser Nay Moo, the missing 7-year-old girl they've been searching for since Monday.

South Salt Lake Police Chief Chris Snyder confirmed that Hser Nay Moo's body was found in the bathroom of an apartment in the complex where her family lived.

Snyder says police were conducting a grid search of the apartment complex. They had previously been unable to search that apartment as no one had been home, but during this final search someone answered and allowed police in. Police then found evidence that led to the discovery of the girl's body.

The four suspects that were in the apartment were taken into custody. A fifth suspect was apprehended in the Fort Union area. It is unknown if the suspects knew the girl.

Snyder says there was some trauma to the body, but didn't provide further detail. He said it is not known when she died.

This evening around 9:00, police taped off the apartment complex where Hser Nay Moo was living with her family, and the Amber Alert was canceled. We're told that volunteers were asked to stop looking around 7 p.m.

Hser Nay Moo was reported missing on Monday evening.

Kimberly Hall, a volunteer searcher, said, "We're just thankful that she's not alone tonight. When they told us that we had to stop searching at 7:00, we were really frustrated, and a lot of us cried then because we could not go home and put our children to sleep knowing that there was a child who was not in her own bed. And so we're thankful, it's a dreadful end, but at least she's found, and I hope that she's at peace. We really wanted a different ending."

Another witness told us, "I saw two plain-clothed detectives running through the side here, and they were trying to hop the fence. And I told them to come through here, it's quicker. And I led them through my house and out the back door. And I saw them run. And as soon as I saw them pull out the police tape, I knew it was no good."

A group of volunteers has gathered around the scene with candles tonight.
