PROVO — Vannesa Batistic, who was one of four people poisoned by carbon monoxide — two fatally — in a home in Richfield Friday, remained hospitalized at Utah Valley Medical Center Sunday.
However, the 19-year-old Elsinore woman has been upgraded to good condition, UVMC spokeswoman Janet Frank said.
Stepbrothers Joey Julander, 17, and Tyler Utley, 21 were found dead in their Richfield home by their father about 7:20 p.m. Friday, Richfield Police said. Batistic and Kennedee Starr, 14, of Annabella, were visiting the home and were sickened by breathing carbon monoxide emitted by a generator.
Starr was hospitalized at the Richfield hospital but later released; Batistic was transported to UVMC for treatment.
The family had been experiencing financial difficulties and their power had been turned off earlier in the week, investigators said. The family was using a generator to light and heat the home, police said.
