WEST JORDAN — A man who provided the getaway vehicle in a triple homicide has been sentenced to jail and probation.

Davis Romney Fotu, 34, was ordered to spend one to 15 years in prison for obstructing justice, a second-degree felony. At the March 28 hearing, however, 3rd District Judge Terry Christiansen suspended the prison time and ordered Fotu to serve three years in jail, or to remain behind bars until he can testify against David Fresques, who is charged with shooting and killing three people on Feb. 12, 2013 — "whichever is longer," according to court records.

Fotu was given credit for time already served behind bars. The judge also sentenced the man to three year's probation and ordered him to pay $2,500 in attorney's fees.

Omar Jarman, 35, Shontay Young, 34, and Danielle Lucero, 26, were all killed in the incident at 8286 S. Adams St. on Feb. 12. Vickie Myers was also shot but survived.

David Fresques, 27, is charged with three counts of aggravated murder and one count of attempted aggravated murder in the deaths. All are first-degree felonies.

Although no motive has been given for the shootings, investigators say the residence was a known drug house. Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill has said he will seek the death penalty if Fresques is convicted.

Fotu walked into the house with Fresques and then gave him his vehicle after Fresques shot four people, according to charging documents.
