OREM — Four families were displaced in Orem Saturday after a fire severely damaged each of their town homes.

Around 6:30 p.m., flames broke out at 1473 S. 70 East in Orem and continued to spread. All four of the town homes were a total loss and the damage was estimated to be around $775,000, according to Orem Police Lt. Craig Martinez.

All of the residents affected by the fire were able to vacate the premises without injury. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

Martinez said two of the town homes were occupied by two adults, one by three adults and two special-needs children and the other by two adults and one child.

All of Orem's fire stations responded, along with one from Provo. The Red Cross was also on the scene to assist the families.

Questar and Rocky Mountain Power responded as well, and authorities remained to ensure that there were no potential hotspots.
