An Eagle Mountain family's life has been turned upside down. In the past three weeks, their 5-year-old daughter has been diagnosed with a rare brain tumor, and she's started aggressive radiation. She's also had three major wishes granted.

Sadie Huish says she wants to go to Disney World, and she's going in a few weeks. It was the first wish Sadie requested after the Make a Wish Foundation heard about her case.

At just 5 years old, she has a malignant tumor that's wrapped around her brain stem. Her mother, Tiffany Huish, said, "We found out it's in a place they can't operate. Usually they can take a biopsy, but this is just in the worst place it could be."

It was discovered Mar. 3, after Sadie started losing her balance and slurring her speech. "She'd say she had a headache, and she would hold her neck," Tiffany said.

Driving a toy car was her second wish. Her parents are grateful it's made her smile, because with a schedule of radiation therapy five days a week and chemo pills every night, Sadie needs something to look forward to.

"She's been amazing, so brave," Tiffany said.

Her last wish Make a Wish couldn't help with, but it came true anyway. Sadie wanted to meet President Thomas S. Monson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her father, Zac Huish, said, "She knows all the names of the apostles and the prophet."

Family and friends swamped the church with calls, and about a week ago her wish was granted. "He [Pres. Monson] just played like a grandpa would play with kids," Tiffany said. "He was so cute. He has these floppy fish, and he was giving them to the kids to play with. He was just laughing himself."

Now all the family can do is wait for the trip to Disney World, where Sadie will get to meet all the princesses, and wait to see if Sadie's prognosis changes. Zac said, "It is advanced. It's not positive, but, you know Miracles do happen. So that's what we're hoping for."

Sadie's mom has a blog site for Sadie. If you would like to check that out and learn more about the 5-year-old, go to the link on this page. Also, the family is accepting donations to the American First Credit Union Sadie Huish account.
