PARK CITY, Utah (AP) -- A Pennsylvania man was killed Sunday after colliding with a tree at The Canyons resort near Park City.

The Summit County sheriff's office says the 63-year-old from Philadelphia was skiing in-bounds when he hit the tree. The accident occurred about 11:30 a.m. near the Tombstone lift area and temporarily closed a portion of the resort.

The man's name was not released. An investigation of the accident is under way.

It is the third fatality at the state's largest ski and snowboard park this season. On Dec. 17, a Park City man was killed after a tree collision. One week later, a Grand Junction, Colo., man died after being caught in an avalanche.
