SALT LAKE CITY — Police have arrested the suspect in the Wednesday robbery of a U.S. Bank branch. David Eric Traversa was apprehended Saturday night, according to a Salt Lake City police spokeswoman.

Investigators believe it was Traversa who entered a U.S. Bank at 1375 S. Foothill Drive around 2 p.m. on Wednesday and demanded money. The bank teller gave him an undisclosed amount of cash, and Traversa fled on foot after receiving the money, police said.

Traversa was identified as the suspect Friday, and a cash reward was offered for information leading to his arrest.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Salt Lake City police spokeswoman Lara Jones sent out a written statement saying Traversa had been arrested in Midvale. The arrest, she said, was the result of cooperation between Salt Lake and Unified police departments.

No further details on Traversa's arrest were available Saturday.

The robbery of the U.S. Bank was one of three bank robberies that occurred in the Salt Lake area on Wednesday.
