NORTH SALT LAKE — A passerby gets credit for possibly saving the lives of two people whose North Salt Lake home caught on fire.
Rescue crews received a call just before midnight from someone who was driving by a mobile home near 1100 North and 240 East, and noticed smoke and flames, according to Chief Jeff Bassett of the South Davis Metro Fire Department.
After calling authorities, the passerby pounded on the widows of the home until the residents woke up and got out safely, Bassett said.
The home did not have a smoke alarm, so that passerby possibly saved the residents' lives, according to Bassett.
The mobile home was badly damaged by the fire. The Red Cross was helping the family Monday morning.
Investigators were still trying to determine what started the blaze.
