MIDVALE – A semitrailer and a pickup truck were in an accident that is likely to cause major delays on I-215 eastbound.
Tuesday, a semitrailer carrying 48,000 pounds of steel beams was driving on the connector off eastbound I-215 and I-15 southbound interchange when it collided with a Utah Department of Transportation pickup truck, according to Utah Highway Patrol.
When the semitrailer driver applied the brakes to avoid the accident, the beams the trailer was carrying slid forward against its cab.
UHP reported no major injuries.
Crews were working to shift the load back onto the trailer, but were waiting for heavy equipment. The accident closed the 7200 South offramp from I-215 and the closure was expected to cause major delays on the connector and I-215 eastbound.
