WEBER CANYON — A man was in serious condition after crashing his sedan into a semitruck.
Just before 7 a.m. Friday, a semitruck was traveling westbound on an I-84 on-ramp in Weber Canyon when it experienced mechanical issues, according to Utah Highway Patrol. The truck pulled over to the right side of the road, blocking in part the on-ramp from Mountain Green.
A Honda Accord getting on the interstate from Mountain Green crashed into the rear of the semitrailer. UHP said the driver of the sedan did not see the stopped truck “for an unknown reason.”
The driver of the Accord, a 40-year-old male, was in serious condition and taken by medical helicopter to an area hospital. UHP said he was conscious when he was leaving the scene.
The crash closed the Mountain Green on-ramp until about 9:15 a.m. while the scene was cleared.
