WEST VALLEY CITY — A 60-year-old man was hit and killed while walking to work Friday morning.

Chris Larsen was crossing 2700 West near 4270 South when he was hit by a vehicle and died at the scene. He was crossing at an intersection but there was no crosswalk or light, said West Valley Police Lt. Dalan Taylor.

Neighbors said Larsen lived near the accident scene and walked to work at Ream's everyday.

A 61-year-old woman hit Larsen, according to police. Investigators do not believe impaired or distracted driving were factors. Taylor noted that Larsen was wearing dark clothing and it was still dark outside at that time.

The woman had not been cited as of Friday but the case was still under investigation.
