PROVO — Police arrested two men in separate child pornography investigations over the weekend.

Provo police arrested Otto Johnson, 49, Saturday for investigation of sexual exploitation of a minor, child molestation and domestic violence after his wife went to police following an argument that turned physical.

The woman, who has filed a protective order against Johnson, told police about the argument and then informed them she had witnessed Johnson viewing child pornography on their home computer, said Provo Police Lt. Mathew Siufanua.

Officers went to the home and searched the computer, locating at least 10 files with child pornography, Siufanua said. They subsequently arrested Johnson and booked him into Utah County Jail.

A search of court records revealed Johnson pleaded guilty in 1986 to third-degree felony attempted sexual abuse of a child.

David Eudene Magarrell, 37, was booked into jail Friday after representatives from Dropbox Inc., a free online file storage and sharing website, alerted the Utah Attorney General's Office that a user in Provo was accessing and storing child pornography through their service.

Police obtained a search warrant and located at least six pornographic files depicting children in Magarrell's possession, Siufanua said.

As of Tuesday, no charges had been filed against Johnson or Magarrell.
