WOODS CROSS (AP) — A Utah woman who was hit twice by freight trains in her car last month after fleeing police has made her initial court appearance.
The Standard-Examiner of Ogden reports 29-year-old Bonnie Jean Stroud was given a court-appointed attorney during Monday's hearing.
Among the charges she's facing are evading police, DUI and assault. Court documents show Stroud pepper-spraying two people after she was kicked out of a house party in Woods Cross on Oct. 13.
When police arrived, she led officers on a high speed chase before she was hit by a train while trying to cross the railroad tracks. Before police could get her out of the car, another train hit her car.
Court documents show her blood alcohol limit was twice the legal limit.
