RICHMOND — A toddler was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital after being found wedged in between a wall and a bed Friday afternoon.

Cache County deputies responded to the report of a medical emergency at a Richmond home around 2:30 p.m., according to the Cache County Sheriff's Office. Officials reported finding the 3-year-old child unconscious, and family members were performing CPR when emergency responders arrived.

Family members said the toddler had been playing in a room and had fallen behind a bed. The 3-year-old was trapped between the wall and the bed when the family found the toddler, according to the Cache County Sheriff's office. The toddler was reported as initially being responsive after being freed by the family, but lost consciousness shortly after.

The child was transported to the Logan Regional Hospital by ambulance, and appeared to have recovered, but doctors decided to have the child airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital for precautionary reasons, according to officials.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
