OGDEN — A man was killed after police say he bypassed traffic waiting at a stoplight and drove into an intersection Thursday.

The 54-year-old driver was headed east on 31st Street toward Wall Avenue in a compact car about 5:50 p.m. when witnesses said he began weaving through cars stopped at a red light, police said.

The man drove through the red light into the intersection at 31st Street and Wall Avenue and was hit on the driver's side by a southbound truck, police said.

The man was transported in critical condition to an area hospital where he later died. His name was not immediately released Thursday.

The accident is under investigation.
