2 gas station robberies may be connected

LAYTON — Police are investigating two armed robberies in Davis County that may be related.

Both crimes happened in the early morning at gas stations on Highway 89.

Police said a man entered a station at 2600 S. Highway 89 in Bountiful at 12:06 a.m. The robber demanded cash and threatened an employee with a weapon.

The robber was described as a Caucasian man in his 20s wearing a black sweatshirt.

Another robbery was reported at 4:48 a.m. at the Sinclair station located at 1508 N. Highway 89 in Layton.

The robber in this incident also wore a black sweatshirt and claimed to have a gun, although no weapon was seen.

No one was injured in either incident. Police are investigating whether the same person is responsible for both crimes.
