VERNAL — A man was found dead in a Vernal apartment after police and medical personnel were dispatched to the residence July 6.

Christopher Alan Miller, 52, was found in the living room of an apartment at Pheasant Glen Condos located at 1350 West 100 North in Vernal.

Assistant Police Chief Keith Campbell said Miller lived in the apartment he was found in and didn't live alone.

"All indications are that the victim would have known the assailant," Campbell said.

Campbell said the initial call was made at around 6 a.m. Saturday by someone stating there was a burglary and a possibly deceased man.

The death has been ruled as a homicide, Campbell said.

Investigators are waiting for Miller's final autopsy results and the cause of death is still unknown, but he reportedly had injuries consistent with an altercation.

No suspects have been identified at this time.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
