MURRAY — The second of two dogs the Humane Society of Utah says was stolen from its facility Wednesday has been returned.
Sunday, a 13-year-old Chihuahua named Bella was returned to the shelter safe and healthy, HSU said. The dog, the organization said, was taken Wednesday along with a 2-month-old chihuahua named Titan by two teenaged girls.
Titan was returned Saturday. Bella, HSU said, was likely to be adopted by the family who found her once she is available for adoption.
HSU said the alleged thieves, described as a blonde and brunette girls between the ages of 14 and 16, spent an hour at the facility before driving off with the dogs in a white, newer model Toyota Corolla. The license plate may include CDO454, and one or two other people may have occupied the car.
The shelter said it will continue working with Murray police to investigate the disapearance of the dogs.
