MURRAY — One of two Chihuahuas allegedly stolen from the Human Society of Utah was returned Saturday, but the shelter says the second is still missing.
Saturday, HSU said Titan, a 2-month-old Chihuahua mix was found at a party. When nobody claimed the dog, an unnamed person took the dog home, and upon seeing a news story about the dog, took Titan to the shelter.
Meantime, Bella, a 13-year-old black and brown female Chihuahua, is still missing. HSU said she was about to join a foster family before she was taken.
The two dogs were allegedly taken by two girls between the ages of 14 and 16 late Wednesday afternoon. HSU said the girls, described as a blonde and brunette, spent an hour at the facility before driving off with the dogs in a white, newer model Toyota Corolla. The license plate may include CDO454, and one or two other people may have occupied the car.
The shelter is offering a $500 reward for verifiable information leading to the arrest of the individuals responsible for the thefts of the animals. Call 801-261-2919 to report anything.
